This is a group project that I worked on with JingWen Xie, Kathleen Harmanson, and Yimiao Xu.
The goal of this project was to research NC State University online platforms used by students, research and address their issues, as well as provide an alternative improved solution for the chosen platform,
After conducting individual research, we decided to chose epack, a platform to help NC State's students and alumni research and find jobs and internships.
My contributions to this project were : choosing the platform to redesign, conducting user interviews, and prototyping and creating the video the final interface design using Adobe Xd. I Prototyped all the button clicks and designed the UI of the job description in the home page. As for the overall UI of the project such as colors and icons. It was a group effort where we all met and worked on the design together.
After collecting data from user interviews, observations, and surveys, we developed a user journey map and an empathy map to help us better understand our persona. We then had a first time user walk through the steps of using the traditional epack and documented what worked well as well as the user's frustrations
User Takes an overall look at the layout and is confused by the amount of tasks
She starts setting up her profile, there are too many questions and her major is not an option for career functions
User is bored by the unnecessary questions
After finally being able to look at jobs, she clicks on one that she finds interesting
User is directed to a new website with a new tab, she is overwhelmed and decides that epack is not for her
